While we'd love to film every event that every group has on campus, it's just not logistically possible. We do often film events that we'd like to show on WUTV, or for a small production fee, so it never hurts to ask. If we can't, we do rent equipment so that you can film your own event.
We do lend out equipment for personal use for a small fee (much less than local production companies). More details about equipment rentals can be found on our rentals page.
Getting involved with an existing show couldn't be easier. Feel free to drop by one of our weekly meetings (Sunday at 6pm, DUC 350) and let us know that you'd like to get involved. You can also feel free to drop us a message so we can chat with you in advance (and to make sure we're having a meeting this week).
Sure! If you've got an idea, feel free to drop by a meeting and chat with us about it. If you really want to be on top of things, you can also bring along a filled out show proposal form to get it approved right away. We suggest that you have some experience with video production before starting your own show, but we're always willing to give you some tips if you don't.
WUTV currently doesn't advertise commercially, but if you're a student group or nonprofit with a message you'd like to get out to Washington University students, feel free to send us an email.
Our equipment occasionally has accidental gaps in programming, but they're usually brief. Check back in a few minutes and something should be on. If it's not, please e-mail us and let us know.
Yep! Surveys in the past have indicated that many WashU students watch WUTV with regularity. Unfortunately, few WashU students are Nielsen families, so we don't have precise rating numbers.
We're always interested in independent student programming! Please send us an email to talk about it.
WUTV offers an invaluable opportunity for students interested in careers in broadcasting and video-production (or just looking to have a good time playing with cameras) to get hands on experience. Recent WUTV alumni have gone on to work on such shows as Good Morning America, Fear Factor and Invasion.
That statement is factually incorrect.
